Carousel Widget
The Carousel Widget is a special purpose widget used to highlight specific articles. It is designed to be part of a custom dashboard that can be implemented inside someone else's desktop application.
The widget allows you to scroll through top headlines as determined by the company providing the widget. You can use the and to scroll through the headlines. In order to read an article, click on the headline or on the Read More link.
Note
The widget is designed to Feature specific articles, but the actual logic uses the normal news context. Typically, featuring an article involves using a workflow to identify the articles to feature and then creating a channel that is used as the context for this widget.
Navigation
The main navigation uses the and icons to scroll through the headline carousel. In addition, clicking on the headline or clicking on Read More will take you to the article as it was originally published.
Common Widget Navigation
Widgets are typically included as part of a dashboard. Some of the navigation elements are available or not based on the settings for the specific dashboard.
One of the optional components is the context area. Click on the link to get more information on the context area.
The widgets themselves all have explicit navigation elements in the frame.
Click on the to maximize the widget inside the dashboard page.
This will expand the widget to fit the full screen. You can click on to return the widget section back into the dashboard.
In addition, each widget may have multiple tabs which can be clicked on to switch to different widgets within the same frame.
