Managing My News
The My News feed is built for you in Apollo Pro® as part of your initial setup. It's purpose is to give you a personal channel that can easily be managed and tuned as you use Apollo Pro®. There are multiple factors to managing your My News feed.
Implicit Factors
Implicit Factors are preferences that are managed by analyzing your behavior as you use Apollo. These include things like clicking on a Company tag, adding an Entity to a Channel, viewing and article, searching for something, or any other activity within Apollo Pro®. As you navigate through the application, you automatically show us what you are interested in, the types of articles you prefer, and the sources that you consider the best.
Explicit Factors
Explicit Factors are preferences that you set up by either clicking on a Like Button, going to My FTS and updating your preferences explicitly, or using the various touch points to modify your interest in a specific entity or topic
Community Factors
Community Factors are modifications to the FTS Relevancy Score using overall behavior within the Apollo Pro® Community.
Full Community
Full Community weighting is used to determining the quality and importance of a given source. As articles are read, and sources are marked as favorites or added to Channels, we keep a running score so that we can better calculate which sources are more relevant for everyone.
Collaborative Community
A second level of relevancy is determined using Collaborative Filtering. This involves categorization of each user into a group and then adjusting overall relevancy based on the behavior of the members in that group.
My News Editing
In addition to all of the above, My News can be edited directly by clicking on the edit () icon next to the My News title and using the Channel Edit functionality to directly change the contents of your channel.
