Currency Pairs
Currencies trade in Currency Pairs. For example trading the US Dollar vs. British Pounds would be an example of a currency pair. Other pairs are US Dollar vs. Euros, US Dollar vs. Australian Dollar, etc. The first listed currency of a currency pair is called the base currency, and the second currency is called the quote currency. Currency pairs compare the value of one currency to another; the base currency (or the first one.md) versus the second or the quote currency. It indicates how much of the quote currency is needed to purchase one unit of the base currency. When used as part of setting up a Quote Widget in Widget Builder or in a Dashboard, the currency pair is entered with a $ sign followed by the currency code for the base currency and then the currency code for the quote currency. Some Examples are:
Currency Code | Currency Pair |
---|---|
$USDGBP | US Dollar vs British Pound |
$EURUSD | Euro vs US Dollar |
$AUDUSD | Australian Dollar vs US Dollar |
